Focus on the learned behavior. Has rewards and punishments and is affected by the environment.Humanistic Framework (Existential Framework)
Focuses on the human experiences. “Here and now.”Interpersonal Framework

Topography of Mind
Conscious
Awake, thinking being. Contains the ego, self, and past experiences that can be easily recalled without any effort.Subconscious (Pre Conscious)
The ideas, feelings, reactions are stored but can easily be forgotten. It is manifested in the “tip of the tongue” experience wherein a person recalls something but could not process what it is. This is considered the watchman of experience.Unconscious
Is the largest part of the mind that exerts no effort. Is the store house of memories, feelings or ideas. It is expressed by jokes, lapses of memories, and dreams.
Components of Personality (Levels of Personality)
Id
Is the pleasure principle. Is developed during the infancy stage. Is the impulsive part. If a person is Id dominant, he could be Manic, Antisocial, or Narcissistic. If a person is also Id dominant it needs the Superego to counterbalance it.Ego
Is the self or I. Pertains to the real principle. If ego is affected an impaired perception can occur. The ego is known as the integrator of personality.Superego
The super ego is the conscience or is the morality of a person. If The superego is dominant, the Id is needed. A client with Superego dominance can be Obsessive, Compulsive, or Anorexic.
